Siena needs no recommendation ! It is a 45 min. drive from il Poggiolo Do not miss the panforte and ricciarelli, traditional sienese sweets!

Arezzo has not been over-run by tourists, yet offers magnificent Piero della Francesca frescos, the home of Giorgio Vasari, a charming historic center spared by systematic bombing in WWII. Good food !

A charming town with a museum of the Tuscan Landscape. Good restaurants! Stop off in Castelnuovo Berardenga on your way back from Siena, or when you spend a day at the thermal baths of Rapolano.
