It's New York in a snapshot. Any given night you can rub elbows with Dave Chapelle, Sean Lennon, and Mariah Carey. The food is tops with the best fried chicken South of the Mississippi. Cajun catfish is pretty amazing too. Sit at the bar at this NYC institution that's open till 4am. You'll soon realize chefs come here for dinner after they thrown in the towel from their shifts.

And the brunch is iconic if you can with stand the wait. I prefer to go there after 9pm. Same quality-driven owner / chef, Jody Williams, of Via Carota.

Many a dreamer have walked those cobblestones. Films are constantly shot there and it's the official/unofficial NYU campus. Being my alma mater, I'm partially biased to the magic of the area. You can spend the whole day there and write a novel just on your surroundings constantly changing with such joie de vivre.

Here's where you run. Right alongside the water some of the most beautiful views of downtown can be seen. The boardwalk was recently re-done and very exercise friendly. Listening to music from your ear buds as you jog, you'll feel like your'e in a Nike commercial.

The streets from 19th till 29th and between 10th ave and West Side Highway. Go and get lost in the coolest Gallery District. Thursday nights are the openings with galleries open till 9pm handing out wine and champagne. Just pop in.
