This biking and walking trail is three minutes walk from our house. You can ride 30 miles to Croton Reservoir (which has a a gorgeous waterfall) or to NYC.

Washington Irving's house - the tour is very interesting and the grounds are beautiful. Check for special activities such as jazz nights in the summer.

3,000 plus acres. Note that this is a five minute drive from the house if you go to the top of Neperan and go straight past theh convent and past a lot of McMansioins. Take a left on County House Rd and cross over Rt 448. Park starts there. You can park along the road and avoid paying the entrance fee. Main entrance is on Rt 117 - which is a ways away.

Very short walk from our house - hiking around two lakes - also bike trail which connects to the North County Bikeway and also the South County Bikeway. You can hike / bike on the path or hike up in the hills above the path. Two county parks are up there.

Nice park located in both Tarrytown and Sleepyhollow. Great playground. Farmers Market there on Saturdays in season.

This is a drive from our house but the hike is amazing - fantastic views - somewhat exposed. Go antique shopping and have lunch in Cold Spring afterwards. Be sure to go all the way down to the river if you go to Cold Spring.

Start of the Croton Acqueduct. Good hiking, but the spectacular thing here is the water fall.
