Neighborhoods

Irving Park was first founded as a farm in the mid-19th century. It expanded over the following decades, as it changed ownership several times, and was eventually developed into a suburb. The area was annexed to the city of Chicago in 1889. The neighborhood continued to develop over the next century, and still maintains many of its historical homes, structures, and parks.
