The closest beach to the Airbnb is Edgewater. Just to the west of downtown and easily driven to, Edgewater is part of the Cleveland MetroParks system. It features a pier, a park with picnic and grill areas, a concession stand, public bathrooms, lifeguards, a huge expanse of sand including a separate dog beach and one of the iconic Cleveland script signs. Beach chairs and kayaks available for rent. There is live music on Thursday nights along with food trucks and beach games. Note: it can get pretty busy on Thursday nights and weekends.

Head 20 miles west and check out Huntington Beach. Run by Cleveland Metroparks, the 2,342-foot long stretch of sand is accessed via several sets of stairs from the bluffs above. Lifeguards are on duty daily through August 8, then weekends through Labor Day. The Noshery is a new concession that features a variety of food and drinks including Ohio beers, cocktails, a crispy walleye sandwich and Honey Hut ice cream. Check out the Sunset Picnic Pavilion, with plenty of space for outdoor dining.
