Guidebook for Your Dog at Our House

Neighborhoods

This area is pet friendly at several outdoor restaurant areas and most everywhere outside with your well-behaved dog on a leash. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and in good health as well as well house-broken. Do not leave your dog unattended in the house. If you are here when it is raining, please note that we have a lot of thunder and lightening during rain storms and even the bravest dog will be frightened so please keep your pet with you at all times. HIKING with your pet can be great fun for both of you but a leash is required on all trails. Watch for wildlife which can include Javelinas (usually shy & nocturnal) and an occasional rattlesnake or scorpion. BEWARE OF SNAKES & SCORPIONS. They are not as likely to be encountered on a well-used, busy trail but still possible. Snakes do try to avoid people. We do have rattlesnakes and (I have read) the deadly coral snake here in Sedona; there are also some benign look-alike snakes. Best to avoid all of them. Also, it is possible to have some poisonous creature(s) in the yard of our property although we have never seen any and we do pest control on a regular basis. Use caution for yourselves and your pet to avoid any bites. POTTY BREAKS: We recommend that you stay outside with your pet when they are in the yard for play and also for "potty" breaks. Regarding "potty" breaks, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET's "BIG POTTY", whether it is on a walk in the neighborhood or in our yard. No one wants to accidentally step into a mess! PUP ACCOMODATIONS: There are blankets and a sheet in the dog box which may be used (please) if your dog likes to get up on the furniture or bed. It is much easier to clean them of pet hairs than all the furniture and bedspreads after each use!! PLEASE VACUUM UP DOG HAIRS PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE. Our cleaners Thank You! The usual Covid approved cleaning will be done. Enjoy Sedona's many beautiful places! I have included a list of some of our pet-friendly restaurants and sites. Safe trails, Katie, George & REMI

Food scene

Right across the street from Sedona Secret Garden House, it is pet friendly on the patio and has Italian dishes and pizza, some with unusual & tasty ingredients. Views of Snoopy Rock (with Woodstock on his nose), Lucy Rock is looking down at Snoopy. Also see Lucy's House (former residence of Lucille Ball), also known as House of Seven Arches which is on the Hill and always lit at night.

Outdoor dining in Tlaquepaque with your pet and lighter fare for lunch or dinner. This is an easy walk away from our Sedona Secret Garden as it is one of the first things you see when entering Tlaquepaque from their big parking lot entrance on the NW side. The Secret Garden Café’s secluded and shaded patio is an ideal place to spend some time with your pup next to you. This spot feels like its own oasis. Everything here is made from scratch, and our personal favorite dish is the Hummus Pizza. Order a dog patty, sliced turkey or chicken patty for your furry friend to enjoy on this expansive outdoor patio in Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village.

There is a small patio here, open only for lunch, that will allow dogs on a leash to be under your table. This is also a great place for dinner with white table cloths and an emphasis on a nouveau French menu but only service dogs are allowed in the dining room.

Uptown Sedona’s Open Range Grill & Tavern and Sedona Pizza Company both serve an identical dog menu. Dig into barbeque and Mexican fare at Open Range. Wood-fired pies are the stars of Sedona Pizza Company’s menu. The dog menus proclaim “It’s the leashed we can do” at the top. Dogs can chow down on chicken apple sausages, a four-ounce hamburger Puppy Patty, Canine Classic featuring brown rice, spinach, carrots, apple slices and choice of a hamburger patty and baked chicken breast. With the exception of Rover’s Rice and Veggies, every dog dish is also served with apple slices. Dogs also receive a complimentary bowl of water to complete the experience. − Teresa K. Traverse

Guests of the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock and diners at on-site restaurant ShadowRock Tap + Table can partake in a feast with their dogs. Beverages include Red Whine, a blend of chicken and beef broth, cranberry juice and water. Main courses include Bacon & Eggs, Salmon Pasta, Burger & Fries and Grilled Chicken served with rice, spinach and carrots.
