Party Mizrahi Style You should never shop on an empty stomach. Upon entering, take a seat at HaSaluf, a popular Yemenite restaurant that’s always bustling with customers and loud Mizrahi music. Order a saluf, a Yemenite laffah-like baked pita, a lachuch, a spongy pita cooked in a frying pan like a pancake, or a jachnun, a rolled buttery pastry served with fresh tomato sauce. They will come with a freshly-made hummus, tahini and a variety of salads, which will provide an energy boost for your upcoming shopping experience.

Busi Batikva Meat & Grill in the Tikva Market Busi Batikva - a kosher meat restaurant in Tel Aviv, considered an institution in the Hatikva neighborhood - specializes in frontal charcoal grills and a variety of grilled meats. In the restaurant's kosher meat menu, you will find a wide variety of dishes, starting with Yemeni soup, continuing with vegetable skewers, high-quality rice and bean dishes, and excellent house salads, and of course ending with steaks and lamb ribs and other elaborate meat dishes alongside other favorite Israeli dishes.

Our favorite Hummus place Just 5 minutes walk from the apartment. FYI - The owner makes limited amount of hummus every day and closes when it's done (usually late noon). Make sure to come early. *****Saving money tip***** In every hummus place you can ask for a free refill for your hummus dish. It is common, don't be shy to ask. If you want to eat it like an Israeli eat it with a fork (without the pitta bread) and with onion

Levinsky Market

Levinsky Market in Tel Aviv is a Pandora's box of the most interesting immigrant stories you could find in Israel, passed from generation to generation just like their shops, the oldest dating as far back as 1894. Come here to see locals stroll leisurely from shop to shop, stopping by a few local restaurants, grabbing a pastry here and a plate of falafel there, sipping on a glass of boutique beer at a small neighborhood pub and catching up on the local gossip. This market awarded by the world timeout magazine, for the best place in Tel Aviv - Jaffa in 2022. My recommendation is to come on Friday late morning. Grab something to eat and drink and enjoy the street like the locals.

Pizza Lila quickly became Tel Aviv’s favourite pizza joint. The pizza is thin and the crust is so fluffy and so bubbly, it really is beautiful. They offer interesting topping combos like the Pizza Bianca with mushrooms, zucchini, and pesto, but with such a great pizza you’re always safe with a classic Margherita topped with a few basil leaves . Be sure to save space for desert – their chocolate pie with sea salt is incredible. They don’t take reservations and the wait on Saturday can be substantial, but honestly, it’s worth it.

Sarona market

Sarona Market celebrates the local cuisine with the leading chefs in Israel: Assaf Granit, Eyal Shani, Yuval Ben Naria, Rachel Ben Elol and many other excellent ones. In the urban space, which has large sharing tables in the center, you can sit and eat together from the crazy selection of dishes in the market. Everyone chooses the dish they want, or a few dishes from the many options, sits down at one of the tables with a cocktail, beer or wine - and dives into a well-designed and happy space, with good music.

Claro’s Med Kitchen (as in Mediterranean), travels through the Mediterranean countries: Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Lebanon and Israel, and is presented in the head chef Ran Shmueli (is one of Israel’s most respected veteran chefs) relaxed cooking philosophy. The menu, taking the “Farm to Table” approach, is rich in fruits and vegetables, featuring seasonal products from the best local produce. All other ingredients in the menu such as meat, fish, and olive oil are also based on Israeli products, with the aim of promoting local industry and environmental responsibility. The menu is updated almost daily with emphasis on generous portions and reasonable pricing. Every few weeks a seasonal vegetable is selected and widely featured in many of the dishes.

The English bar, Lager&Ale, offers a wide variety of beers at great prices, street food and a European atmosphere. ****Tip from me**** In this place there are no service to the table and you should pick your own food and drinks from the bar inside and take it to the tables outside. My suggestion is to buy food from Sarona market and eat it with a cheap beer from this place

They serve 8-12 different beers, all freshly brewed in-house behind glass windows, so that everyone can see how this wonder comes to life. Feel free to ask the staff about the creation process - They would love to explain everything. They have all the time in the world, and the best way to spend it besides drinking beer, is talking about it... No need to make reservations, just come as you are. Grab a drink from the bar, order something to eat, and sit wherever you like - outside in the plaza, or indoors beside the actual brewery.

At the small and busy grill stand on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv you can find one of the best pitas in the city: chicken, kebab, veal heart, sausage or lamb's legs grilled on a charcoal grill, enter the pita with roasted tomato and onion, vegetable salad and hot pepper, and at the end you get a delightful closing of Amba . Neve Tzedek or Neve Tsedek, is another district of Tel Aviv which has become increasingly fashionable in recent years. Renovation works have taken place to restore it to its former glory. Built in 1887, Neve Tzedek was the first Jewish neighborhood outside of the old port city of Jaffa. It’s the city’s first suburb. Its Oriental architectural style, combines with quaint, narrow streets with boutiques. All of this makes Neve Tzedek a retreat the modern city.
