Just half a mile walk along the river from my flat you will find one of the most picturesque villages in the UK.

Edinburgh Castle is worth at least half a day to visit. The history of the castle and Scotland's Kings and Queens is laid out really well. The views from the esplanade are also not to be missed.

Modern Rugby Club with a balcony overlooking the park and pond. Opposite the flat. Good for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. This is also where the first International Rugby game took place and there is a great wall of history as you enter.

There are miles of off road walks available. You can walk along the water of Leith to the sea port of Leith or countryside in Balerno, or cross onto the canal. You can also walk to a number of beaches.

Very pretty sailing inlet with a photographic lighthouse. The Old Chain Pier, Star Bank, Lock Fine Restruarant and Fish and Chip shop there offer good food and drink. You can view across the water to Fife and our famous bridges in South Queensferry. A pretty 50 minute walk from the flat.
