Summer is not complete for us unless we have at least one Tanglewood event. Lawn or covered shed" tickets are available. Lawn seats are worth the effort if you bring a picnic even if not as elaborate as some (with candles and tablecloths). Food is available for purchase to simplify the planning.

This lovely country town boasts the Bridge of Flowers and the glacial pot holes as well as the film site for the recent Dexter series and the former Judge movie. It has pottery, clothes and novelty shops, restaurants, a candy/ice cream shop, pizzeria, pharmacy, 2 groceries (one organic) a special place for my favorite hibiscus ginger ice tea called Delicatesse and a Mediterranean food truck with great grape leaves.

Despite the name this city is worth the drive for theater and dining. Berkshire Theater Company has a stage here and two stages in Stockbridge hosting drama, musicals, comedy and music.

This classy town is home to Tanglewood and boasts fine casual dining, lovely clothes, household and wine shops.

Home of Deerfield Academy and close to Amherst, this lovely town has an historic district of antique homes and is the site of my favorite farm stand, Atlas Farm.

This city is at the crossroads of routes 2 and 91 and is home to the Green River Music Festival. Greenfield offers shopping options downtown as well as outdoor malls. Big Y supermarket, Dollar Store, Verizon, Staples etc. are near the Friendly's intersection. Downtown are Greenfield's Co-Op (an organic market), a weekly farmer's market, a movie theater, and my favorites, Hope and Olive, and Magpie restaurants. The People's Pint is also fun.
