David and Paula (hosts) would like to welcome you to our lovely villa. We want to first thank you for choosing Villa Cristal which sits in the beautiful village of San Juan de los Terreros on the Costa de Almeria.
San Juan De Los Terreros is the easternmost village of Andalucía. The coastal village has several bays and beaches nearby. San Juan de los Terreros is a few miles along the coast south of Aguilas. The area has supermarkets, chemist, restaurants, tapas bars, coffee shops, ice-cream parlours, and a medical centre. It also has a nightclub during the summer months and a garden centre. An open market takes place during the summer each Sunday morning. The small coves in San Juan de Los Terreros have traditional fishermen's cottages on the coastline. A volcanic island, cliffs, and coves are located along the coast.

Whilst there are so many restaurants in the village, we have listed those that we recommend personally, having been to them all on many occasions.
A very popular restaurant and is located near the roundabout with the fountain. Just a 5 minute walk from the villa. Wonderful food and service!

This is our favourite - best view in town and wonderful food to suit all. This restaurant overlooks the bay. The castle is worth a visit too which is next to the restaurant.

This Belgian pub and restaurant has moved to Av. Puerta Litora Andaluz, opposite side of the road to Gemva. Great atmosphere and great place to go for a pre dinner drink or a reasonably priced meal.

This is a relatively new restaurant and one of our absolute favourites. We especially like the pizzas. Lovely place to eat inside or outside. Fabulous service from friendly staff and exceptional food.

Here are some of our recommendations that we have experienced ourselves.
Dating back to the eighteenth century, the castle has been restored, including a museum and its one of the best exhibits of the city’s culture. From the top there is a breathtaking view of the town and its surroundings. The fortification is composed of three blocks: The Fort of San Juan, San Pedro Battery and a connecting link, used for defending the castle’s access and as a sidewalk housing the artillery.

A hill top village and beaches. Offers both history and romance. The town is a wonderful sight of whitewashed buildings and steep, cobbled streets with quaint shops, restaurants and stunning views.

Aguilas has a Saturday market but also lots of shops, restaurants and gorgeous beaches. The town square which is near the harbour is a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by.

The switch for these can be found in the white covered plastic lid (which houses the pool equipment etc) near the wall of the neighbouring property.

To the beach!
The quickest route to reach the beaches (if you are walking) is through the gate near the pergola in the garden. Unlock the gate and turn left and this path takes you direct to the beach. Or again, you can turn left and then take a right and go over the wooden bridge and turn left once you are over the bridge, again this takes you direct to the beach. (our advice is to the lock the gate when you leave the property)

Gardener and Mosquito spraying
The on site gardeners have access to Villa Cristal’s gardens and can arrive at any time. They look after the garden, check irrigation and clean the pool during your stay.
It is also advisable to unlock the front gates either late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning as there is someone who comes round and spray the grass to reduce any mosquitos.

Rubbish and Recycling
You can dispose of your rubbish and recycling at the bins which are on the side of the road, just outside the entrance to the development.
