Fort Fisher is a gorgeous area. It's got rock jetties, a historic fort you can explore, and the NC Aquarium is located here as well!

Benny's Big Time Pizzeria, Satellite Bar & Lounge, Block Taco, Second Glass Wine Bar, YogaSalt, End of Days Distillery isn't far, and not to mention New Anthem Project. Satellite often has bluegrass music on Sunday nights which is always a fun experience too.
