Owned by McPerson Cellars, Sylvia McPherson put her design background and family recipes into an amazing dining experience. La Diosa is beautifully decorated around an eclectic collection of design elements, furnishings, fabulously outlandish lighting fixtures and textures. The menu features delightful traditional tapas, as well as unique innovations on the classics. You should try Kim McPerson’s wine while you’re there. Our favorites are, La Herencia, La Diosa’s signature red, Rioja, and their Italian field blend.

Owned and operated by the same owners as West Table, Cameron West had this idea to bring back the West Texas Diner by honoring his famous grandpa, Dirk West — former Lubbock mayor and cartoonist best known for his Texas Tech cartoons in the Avalanche-Journal. Dirk’s serves classic locally sourced items and some gluten-free options, such as amazing gulf oysters, chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, rotisserie chicken done really well with scratch-made sides, tying it in with the West Texas diners, his grandfather, the Southwest Conference and all the fun things Lubbock.

Growing up in the Leal’s family, Heather and her husband Jeremy opened their own, from the ground up, Mexican kitchen. My favorites are the carne asada street tacos and the chili rellenos ( light and crispy!) But of course, it’s ALL good!
