If you have kids or a sweet tooth, take a walk with them one morning down to Purple Glaze. Their donuts will not disappoint. If you have a dog be sure to bring them along too so they can get a free homemade dog treat! Everyone will love you.

If you're craving a refreshing margarita, chips & queso, nachos and more this is a great place. Super causal. We love to grab a big table outside in the summer with the kids.

Don't leave without going to their speakeasy bar (Laylow) in the basement (go through the unmarked door on the way to the kitchen). AMAZING cocktails and super fun discovery!

Great pizza and atmosphere. This is a good place for groups...just make sure you put your name in early because the wait can get long. Homemade ricotta for appetizer and the 14 1/2 pizza are musts.

Craft cocktails before dinner? This is your place. The bartenders are incredible and will take excellent care of you. All the alcohol, bitters, tonics and syrups are made on-site — and bottles are also for sale. Highly recommend!

This speakeasy is located in the basement of the fabulous Middle Eastern restaurant, Reyla, must walk through the restaurant to an unmarked door on right on the way to the kitchen. They only allow a limited amount of guests so check it out before dinner or on a weeknight.

Dogs
If your dog likes to run and play with other dogs be sure to take them to the 8th Avenue dog beach. If you are coming during the summer I'd recommend going in the am. Locals tend to go in the morning and it's a little more enjoyable. Summer evenings can be a bit out of control with the number of dogs and their owners from out of town. There are bathrooms and a hose right by the entrance to the beach. Not ideal for young kids.
Dogs are always allowed on the beach between mid-September and mid-May. If you are visiting in summer, schedule an early morning or late evening visit, as dogs are not permitted between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm.
