A local favorite, as authentic Japanese as it gets, Uchi has both a fine dinning and a more relaxed bar on the upper level. If you are into Sushi this is the spot for you! Be sure to book ahead.

Probably my favorite Italian restaurant in Dallas, it is located in the heart of the trendy Knox/Henderson food scene it and Toulouse share the “it” crowd of the area; besides that, the food is extraordinary and prices are not too crazy.

This aquarium feels more like a wildlife exhibit than an aquarium and is always fun to go through with the kids. You will get a chance to see the animals in a different setting than the traditional fish tanks! Try going on a weekday for shorter lines.

One of my favorite places in Dallas, this Botanical Garden has it all from: wedding receptions, to breathtaking views of the lake, open spaces for the family to enjoy as well as a few proper restaurants to sit down and enjoy a meal, or your traditional concession stands to get a snack. The Dallas Arboretum also has different showcases according to the season, so it never gets old to go visit!

Rent a car
DFW is very large and getting from one town to the next in the metroplex is not easy without a car. The DART (Dallas' public tranportation) is good and quick but when going from points outside the dowtown you will end up using a car or very pricey uber rides if not.
