Our Fave Spots in the West Side Neighborhood

Food scene

A 2 minute walk to our favorite local hang. Quirky ambience, great cocktails, wonderful food. If you have just one night in town, make this the place. But then please don't tell anyone else about it.

Great local spot for breakfast or lunch. We've had only one dish over the years that was meh. But can't remember what it was, so you're welcome for that.

Same local family that owns Jefe's Tacos & Tequila. Great food with tremendous selection. If you're here in summer, be sure to do the rooftop experience. (If you're looking for margaritas, though, skip the Roost and go to Jefe's.)

Just maybe the best tacos we've had anywhere. And quite a tequila list to go with it. The house marg with chili rim isn't a bad place to start. Indoor seating offends my 60 year old self with louder music than I'd prefer, but I endure it on a regular basis for the tacos. (Feel free to insert your favorite old person meme here. . . .)

If you want a brewery in walking distance, this is your best bet. the malty smell that occasionally wafts through the neighborhood when a new batch launches comes from here. Quirky atmosphere inside. Outside seating also available. Food trucks pull up regularly so check their website to see who's there now.

Local distillery with a highly creative atmosphere. The owners are amazing craftspeople and hand crafted not only the furniture and bar but the actual still, which is a work of art in itself.

Best pastries and bread in NoCo. Maybe the state. Maybe more. If you're a foodie, you know the name Nancy Silverton of La Brea Bakery and Mozza in LA. She visited and announced these were the best croissants in the country. Hard to dispute. They also do burgers, pizza, and some amazing dinner things periodically as the spirit leads. You'll have to check out their website to know for certain when those are going to happen. But the pastries are a must-experience.

It's quirky, it's Frenchy, it's the place people travel from a huge radius to come experience. Huge walk-in fridge stuffed with more cheeses than you've ever seen. And a food + French-stuff gift shop that makes you feel like you're in France. Pre-COVID they had a delightful restaurant/cafe/bar as well, but as of now, it's still closed down. We're hoping it opens again soon. But for cheese, crackers, snacks, and a unique shopping experience (and yes, in walking distance), check it out.
