Sightseeing
An easy 15min walk (turn left as you leave the unit complex) at the end of the strand and head to the rockpool. Steps will take you up to a viewing area over the bay and down to a seaside timber boardwalk. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time.

Our most famous landmark with incredible 360 degree views - drive up to the top or hike/jog/walk from the base. There are sections of steep stairs and trails along the 'goat track' or you can walk along the road to the top (keep left so cars can pass safely). Most locals walk up in the late afternoon (4pm-5pm) or early morning (6am) when its cooler. Takes about 30-45min from the base of the hill each way (much quicker if you're fit and jog). You can also walk from the unit to the base of the hill and it takes an extra 20-30min each way. Allow 2-2.5 hrs for the entire trip if you walk from the unit. You can also drive and park at the base of the hill and walk up the hill from there. A hat, suncream, water bottle and runners are essential. You can refill your water bottle at the top of the hill.

Outdoor activities
Free swimming lagoon, great for families and kids beside the scenic Ross River where plenty of turtles and ducks gather for a feed. Lovely and cool breezes especially in the late afternoon. Highly recommend strolling or jogging along the riverside pathways in the late afternoon - there are 5km trails that loop around both sides of the river along Nathan Street, Aplins Weir and along Riverway Drive.
