Sightseeing

A must see just a few minutes walk from our flat. The "hôtel particulier" or "city castle" in which the Picasso museum is located is worth the visit in itself.

Neighborhoods

During the 1600s and 1700s, Le Marais was the area where any self-respecting noble family had to have their "Hotel Particulier" or "City Castle" built. This was also where Marie-Antoinette enjoyed going out... and where she was locked up after the French Revolution. Many of the "Hotel Particuliers" survived to this day and make Le Marais a unique neighbourhood, together with the exceptional social diversity of this traditionally open-minded and inclusive area.
