Our mission Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White Health promotes the well-being of all individuals, families and communities. Our history Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas, formerly known as Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, opened in 2002 as the first North Texas hospital dedicated solely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. The heirs to Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton have been and will continue to be involved, as we appreciate their generosity as a key part of the heart hospital’s history. Providing inpatient and outpatient services focused on preventive heart health and comprehensive cardiovascular disease management, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital cares for patients who travel nationally and internationally for heart care and treatment. The hospital is a patient-centered facility with six cardiac catheterization laboratories, four electrophysiology laboratories, four surgical suites and a cardiac rehabilitation center. Other services include radiology, Heart Rhythm Center, Center for Valve Disorders, Aortic Center and a non-invasive imaging department. Thanks to the historic collaboration between the formerly named Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, in late 2014, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Fort Worth provides expanded cardiac services and greater access for heart patients to research studies and clinical trials. A 26,000-square-foot diagnostic and treatment center anchors the sixth floor, featuring cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and non-invasive cardiology services. Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital is expanding cardiology care to Ellis County. A cardiac catheterization lab opened within Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, managed by Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Services – Waxahachie, on November 1, 2021. As part of the $47 million campus expansion, a new medical office building broke ground in October 2021. The building will contain the new heart and vascular hospital. The hospital will include advanced cardiology and vascular services provided by Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas. Working collaboratively with Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie, the new heart and vascular hospital will include expanded cardiovascular interventional services, electrophysiology treatments, and non-invasive services, and cardiac imaging capabilities. New catheterization labs, electrophysiology labs, and an outpatient recovery unit will complete the new space. The anticipated opening is mid-year 2023. Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital, joint ownership with physicians, is part of Baylor Scott & White Health, a result of the 2013 merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Health.

Ward and Don Mayborn, brothers who grew up in the Bluffview area of Dallas, started selling antiques out of the bottom floor of an old house on Fairmount Street in Uptown Dallas in 1971. They started the store by taking turns traveling to England to stock the store with shop interiors, signs, and British collectibles. The people from whom they purchased in England quickly became friends — and are friends to this day. In 1984, Ward’s son, Scott, became a partner in Uncommon Market. In 2008, all of the Mayborn’s packed up and moved to the Design District. Ward and Don continued the fine tradition of the Uncommon Market, and Scott and Laura opened Uncommon Lighting, which focuses on antique and custom lighting and custom fabrication. Expanding their abilities in recreating decorative and display items and lighting. The new location allowed for growth and the ability to meet the demands of all of their loyal patrons. In 2016 Uncommon Lighting acquired Uncommon Market. Scott and Laura Mayborn will carry on the tradition Don and Ward started. In 2021 we celebrated our FIFTIETH year in business. August 9th, 2021 was a day of celebration. We can’t believe we’ve made it fifty years. Almost 50 years later, we are still known as one of the largest family-owned antique stores in Dallas. We specialize in European Antiques, Accessories, Lighting, Industrial Decor, Architectural Salvage, Leather Books, and more from France, England, Belgium, and Holland. We travel through flea markets in Europe and handpick unique treasures that we know our customers will love. Being in business for almost 50 years, we’ve become known in our restoration of antiques as well. We’ve gathered a group of skilled artisans that provide quality woodwork, ironwork, painting, and all of the other talents needed for necessary repairs on our antiques. This ensures that our products are high quality and sets Uncommon Market apart from other antique shops. Our quality restoration facility is consistently restoring antiques from our store, and unfortunately, we are unable to take in items not purchased from our shop. We are more than happy to make whatever adjustments, modifications, or changes necessary to make our inventory fit your needs. Our experiences in the past in restoration have also expanded our abilities in custom metal fabrication. This allows us the ability to fit any of our client’s needs. We have a full metal fabrication and woodworking shop and a quality custom painting staff that can reproduce any finish.
