Culross is the best preserved village in Scotland from the 1600s. It has great cafes and walks along the seafront (National Trust buildings/gardens). 20 mins drive.
Falkland is a peaceful village, 30 minutes drive. It has a well preserved Renaissance palace and grounds which you can visit. There is also an excellent organic shop and cafe (‘Pillars of Hercules’).

The Old Town is the historic centre of Edinburgh, between the royal palace and the castle. It’s a short walk from Waverley Station (30 mins from the flat). It’s great to walk around off season or at quiet times of day but will be very busy in the summer/Festival!

Aberdour station is two minutes walk away.
Trains run every half hour and it takes about 30 mins to get to the centre of Edinburgh (Waverley). You can also take direct trains north, to Dundee and Perth, or connecting trains for St Andrews or Aviemore.

Edinburgh airport is 35 mins (train/tram) or 20 mins drive
Take the tram to Edinburgh Gateway (8 mins) and then overland train to Aberdour (21 mins). Alternatively, you can take the 747 bus to Inverkeithing (20 mins) and train to Aberdour (7 mins), but connections may take longer. You can also take Uber, taxi or hire cars which take approximately 20 minutes drive.

You can park free on the High Street, very close by, depending on spaces. Alternatively, the station car park is only 100 metres away and has multiple spaces which are free 24/7.
