If you are traveling with kids, Berfeld is a great park to get out and play. There is a large playground as well as picnic areas, bathrooms and an ampitheatre.

The azalea district is an enjoyable walk through historic Tyler where you can see beautiful houses with lovely gardens any time of year but especially in March and April when the Azaleas are blooming.
