It’s a vast, extraordinary collection, full of curiosities and surprises. Admission free! It's just 9 stops on the Central Line to Holborn, then a 4 minute walk. Only 90 people are allowed in the house at one time, so there may be a queue.

This amazing house/art installation is a 10 minute walk from Liverpool Street (Central Line). Artist Dennis Severs wanted people to enter his 18th century house and experience what life would have been like at that time. Designed as if a Huguenot family has just stepped out of the room you enter, you'll hear them "talking" in the other room, see clay pipes and candles smouldering, and smell their food. Fascinating!

It is super easy to get to the historic city of Oxford from my house. An 8 minute walk to the Hilton Hotel on Holland Park Avenue, then catch the Oxford Tube coach directly to Oxford City centre. The coach runs every 12 minutes 24 hours a day. https://www.oxfordtube.com/faqs.aspx. The journey takes approximately 1 and a half hours, and is much cheaper (and more comfortable and convenient) than the train.

The heart of London's West End, Piccadilly Circus is instantly recognisable from its enormous iconic electronic screens and the famous statue of Eros. If you walk west from the Circus, Piccadilly itself has been a thoroughfare since medieval times, and is one of the widest and straightest streets in Central London. It once was the favoured place for booksellers and the oldest surviving bookshop in Britain, Hatchards, has been there since 1797. Other places of interest include the Royal Academy of Art, the Ritz and Burlington Arcade.
