Sightseeing

This is about 30-40 mins drive from the home. Go about 18 miles on Highway 97 and just past Mineral Springs Campground on your left is a forest road that takes you all the way up. Its preferable to have a high clearance vehicle though i have seen Prius at the top. The Cle Elum lake is a special place. You can drive your car right up to the beach and swim during summer. Great fishing too!

If you like anitques, you CANNOT miss this place. It is a 3 story antique mall with some amazing discoveries waiting to be made. On you way out, dont forget to get some home made ice cream!

Ellensburg Rodeo is a annual event that is fun for all age groups. Its a much awaited event that happens on Labor day weekend. The rodeo tickets are go fast, so if you want to be there book in advance.

Roslyn is a historic mining town 3 miles from the home. There is a coal miners museum that is worth the visit. There are also local art shops and a fine distillery worth visiting. Historic tours of the town will educate you on the mining history of this town.

Leavenworth, WA is about 45 mins drive. A old touristy Bavarian themed town. Dont forget to get some bratwursts while you are there. Super good! Cant miss!

This is my favorite beer place! There isnt a beer you will not like. There are some good food options as well. Dark Amber, Heff, and their Pilsners are my fav. IPAs are great too.

This is a pristine lake about 25 mins drive from the home. You can paddleboard/kayak here and watch some beautiful birds. Just as you get to crossing the bridge to the lake, you can watch salmon spawning in late-September, early October.

This is a 4 mile gravel trail, almost flat from Cle Elum to Ronald. There are some relics from the old mining days all along the trail. Great to walk, run, bike or cross-country ski during winter

This is a gravel trail that goes all the way to Palouse, WA. It is a gravel well maintained trail. You can ride your mountain bike or street hybrid bike( or a road bike with wider tires). You can park at Hyak ( Exit 54 on I-90) and ride all the way to Cle Elum, WA. It is gradually sloping and an amazing ride.
