City/town information

There are several ski resorts to keep the powder hounds appeased. You will also find a trendy downtown for those that love to shop. Park City Mountain Resort: The largest ski resort in the USA. It is easy to get lost in the maze of lifts and runs. In the winter you can stay busy for days exploring. Millcreek canyon is a a different flavor of canyon compared with Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. There aren't any ski resorts so most people in this canyon are having picnics, hiking, mountain biking, or road biking. If you are looking to have a picnic this is the best bet to find a spot. Keep in mind that there is a $5 fee when you leave the canyon. Mountain Bikes are only allowed on upper trails in Millcreek Canyon on EVEN numbered days. Dogs must be leashed in the entire canyon on even-numbered days and may be off-leash on odd days ONLY. Dogs must be leashed on all days in developed areas: picnic grounds, parking lots, roads, and housing developments.

If you are looking for an authentic Navajo Taco this is the place. The hours may be odd, but if it is open you should give it a shot. This is a short drive or bike ride.

This is our favorite taco stand. Our old neighbor's parents' it. They do lunch and early dinner. It takes a while for them to cook the tacos because everything is cooked to order. They have some of the best salsa I have ever tried.

Golf

Nibley Park, which opened in May 1922 after the Nibley family donated the land to Salt Lake City, is the oldest public golf course in Utah. Its central location has made it a popular destination for city dwellers and tourists, offering breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains. Fairways and greens are guarded by mature trees, many of which were planted before the early pioneers arrived in Salt Lake City. The course is about a minute drive from the home or a 10 minute walk. This is great for beginners.

Forest Dale was built in 1906 as the Salt Lake Country Club and holds the distinction of being the oldest golf course in Utah. Forest Dale has undergone several phases of renovation since the City acquired the course in 1935. A major redesign in 1986 maintained the tradition while transporting the course into a contemporary test of golf. Today, it’s a challenging course with several small, original table-top greens that place a premium on accuracy. This is a great course for beginners.
