One of our absolute favorite hikes. It has breath-taking views and is listed as a moderate hike that is a little over 2 miles round-trip. Families, solo hikers, and groups are all welcome. Parking is limited so we highly recommend going early. A must-do hike!!

Another must-see & do while in Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods has miles of several different trails to hike with incredible views. It is a popular park with several parking lots throughout the park. Make sure to pace yourself as it is easy to just keep walking and walking!

Section 16 is a 6-mile moderately difficult hiking and biking trail that offers both beautiful views of the mountains as well as peaceful paths through the forest.

The Cog Railway has recently reopened after a significant revamping of their railways. It is a 3-hour ride up and back to Pikes Peak and is not for the faint of heart. You will see unbeatable views and experience going up a 14'er without the significant physical effort :). But beware, it is a tight squeeze in the railway and there are no bathrooms. Staying hydrated is a must given the significant rise in elevation. We recommend doing this towards the end of your stay if you are staying a week or more so your body is slightly more acclimated to the elevation of Colorado Springs. The views are 100% worth it though!

You will see unbeatable views and experience going up a 14'er without the significant physical effort :). But beware, it is a tight squeeze in the railway and there are no bathrooms. Staying hydrated is a must given the significant rise in elevation. We recommend doing this towards the end of your stay if you are staying a week or more so your body is slightly more acclimated to the elevation of Colorado Springs. The views are 100% worth it though!

Hiking Boots and a Jacket!
If you intend on doing any hiking, even easy hiking, we highly recommend bringing appropriate footwear. It can be very dusty, muddy, slippery, and rocky so a good pair of hiking shoes is a great way to make your hike more enjoyable! We also recommend bringing layers and a jacket or outdoor sweater as it can be very cold without the sun. Especially if you intend on hiking to higher elevations, it can be quite windy and cool or sometimes just downright cold! Always worth the views but it's definitely more fun if you have layers and outerwear to make you comfortable.
