A proper Italian restaurant, way out here in the west. The lunchtime deal of $20 for a small meal, garlic bread and a glass of alcohol is hard to pass by. Busy in the evenings. 10 minutes drive.

At Silo Park you can also see outdoor movies, listen to live music, and there are events all summer, plus a cool playground for kids. 30 minutes drive.

World famous as a surf beach, it's also awesome for body-boarding, and for just wandering along, taking in the natural beauty, year round. Karekare, Bethel's and Muriwai beaches and also well worth taking in. 20 minutes drive.
