This food truck has excellent Thai food. You can call ahead and pick up if you have been in town all day and take it home to eat or you can sit outside under the palm trees and eat. Cash only-large potions. Shrimp padthai and green papaya salad are great.

Laie is the 2nd town past Punaluu and has a McDonald's, Ace Hardware (opens early) Foodland Grocery Store, Massage Therapy, Five Brothers Hamburgers (rated highly)
It also is where The Polynesian Cultural Center is Located. You can go for the day or for a luau at night.

There is a public beach with parking. You can go to the beautiful hotel with a new $6 million dollar remodel and have tacos around the pool. You cannot use the pool, but the beach is available

Costco of course is the cheapest place tossup in Hawaii. Many visitors are shocked at our food and gas prices, if you can arrange your flight to arrive early enough this should be your first stop before heading to Punaluu. It's also the cheapest place to get gas before turning in your car.
