Hipster, cool and fashionable, W&G is a great place to kick back surrounded by yuppy freelancers of all persuasions with laptops whirring up creative ideas. They make arguably the best coffee in that neck of the woods and their pulled pork sandwich is legendary. They close at 4pm.

Craft Beer and Boutique Burgers of note!! In the growing list of Burger-Beer joints, this one is up there with the best and one of the few that have (thankfully) avoided being franchised. Their impressive selection of burgers come in all variants including vegetarian and vegan options. The Tofu or Quinoa-Lentil patties are so good, you'll wonder why burgers aren't always made this way...

Moya is a well-known African restaurant at Zoo Lake. African cuisine with african arts and crafts for sale at an adjoining market. A good experience for tourists. You can stroll the park afterwards or take a rowboat out on the lake... Nice for a Sunday afternoon.

Booking is essential. For veggies, Leafy Greens just behind serves a whopping buffet that will make you cry tears of joy. Not for those on a budget, but well worth the effort. Wowzers!!

I'm a coffee snob and I find that any Seattle Coffee is my dealer of choice for the dark brew. They are consistently good, which I cannot say for other coffee purveyors, who tend to vary in quality based on location.

Stroll up and down the fashionably expensive 4th Street and sniffle through artwork, homeware, fashion and food. There's something for every taste in Parkhurst, except perhaps value for money... but at least you'll look good while doing it!

Scoobs is a great, unfranchised bookstore with some real gems hidden on the shelves. Go to Koi and sit on the balcony 'outside' overlooking the slots and craps tables.
