A beautiful picturescue place that deserves your attention as you stroll through the old Town. Great to visit during the afternoon. Many restaurants are located there with good people and great food (fish is their specialty)

Beach
It's one of my favorite beaches in Southern Rethymno. The waters are always clear and no matter the temperature they are always cool (not in a bad way!). A great plus with this beach is the cantine that is located there, it provides you a place sit and relax under the trees, with fresh food chill water and delicious cocktails.
Similar place is Ammoudaki(very close to ammoudi), Damnoni, Plakias, Rodakino, Triopetra.
These beaches are all one hour drive (give or take) from Rethymno

In Crete you will find more that 300 gorges, most of them are easy to walk through. Mili gorge is one of the must visit gorges. Located very close to Rethymno, It's easy to pass through and it's a very beautiful sight to see. Green everywhere. Inside the gorge there is a waterhole that many visitors like to swim in, so if you feel like it, take your bathing suit with you!
