Sightseeing
Great views over the bustling Felixstowe/Harwich/Shotley Harbours and Peninsula. Take a ferry to Harwich. Visit Felixstowe Fort. Enjoy a cup of tea or breakfast. Can walk there along Languard common (a nature reserve) or drive.

Walk past the pier with sea on your right and keep going. You pass a couple of decent cafes and pubs, the lovely Spa gardens, the theatre (Spa Pavillion), lots of beach huts, and The Fludyers (pub/cafe). Then you have to walk on the beach for about 150yards (passable at all times except at high tide), and then along another Prom, past more beach huts, the golf course, and 2 Martello towers. You finally arrive at the mouth of the river Deben in the hamlet of Felixstowe Ferry. The Ferryboat Inn is worth a visit - good food and beverages, but there also two cafes nearby. Lovely walk.

Lovely pub, tucked away in the small village of Newbourne, a few miles away from Felixstowe. It is possible to walk along the banks of the river Deben from Felixstowe Ferry (about 8 miles) to the Fox.

A very popular pub situated right on the banks of the River Deben. Good food and drinks, lovely views. "Old Suffolk/nautical" atmosphere, particularly on winter nights when it is quieter.
