Altea old town (Casco Antiguo) is a must. You can´t miss it!
Up in the hill you will find the old town. Walk around the small stone streets, white houses and beautiful views to the mountains.
There are many restaurants, handcrafts and arts shops. Also in the summer there´s an interesting market with handcraft items, jewelry, decoration.
I recommend you to make reservetions for dinner in advance. There´s many restaurants to choose.
You can drive and park in altea (check public parking parking), or you can go by train (I recommend it in summer if you don´t feel lazy). A taxi back home costs around 15 €, and you´ll be free of stress.

In this street you will find banks, supermarkets, all sorts of shops and the Municipal Market for fresh local groceries (towards the end of the street).
If you need something, you can probably find it in that area.
Also Mercadona supermaket is very close.

Try not to use the car
Altea is a beautiful town with many visitors and cars in the summer. Parking can be quite stressful.
As long as you can avoid using your car.
There´s a train station at the begining of the street. You can go to Altea, Benidorm and Villajoyosa by train.
To return at night you can ask for a taxi 966 81 00 10. I should cost around 15 eur from Altea back home.

If you know where you want to go I strongly recommend you to call in and make a reservation in advance.
You will avoid waiting times and ensure you have a place.

Our timing is a bit different from Europe: We eat at 14h or 15h, and take dinner after 22h.
But normally you can find restaurants open before that.
Also if you go earlier it will not be as busy.
In the morning not many things are open before 9am.

Summer is the busiest time, everyone is overtoped by work, heat and trying their best to make all our visitors happy.
Enjoy your time, don´t rush, be patient.
Many people speak, understand english, some french. But everyone speaks Spanish. Try hola, gracias and a big smile, it will help you and bring happines around you.
