A great beach for kids because it's sandy and it's safer in the shallows. Walberswick is also great for crabbing with young kids... equipment is in the old 1711 cupboard...bucket, net and weighted lines...just tie bacon to the weight end of the line, stand on one of the footbridges over the river near the car park, drop the lines into the water, and wait....

if you're not an RSPB member, it's expensive to visit the bird reserve hides, etc, but walk in from the beach and there is no charge. There quite a nice cafe in the visitors centre too.
