This beach is a 5 minute drive from the house and is a nice change of scenery. Out of town era pay a parking fee in the lot across the street (not sure of price ). There is a fishing pier (get your fishing license at Bobby J’s Bait for $20), a hotdog/burger stand, and bathrooms.

Best Apizza 🍕 in the USA!
The worst apizza in New Haven, and greater New Haven, is better than the best pizza in the rest of the country. Even Brooklynites have trouble arguing this once they get their greasy hands on these pies.

Okay, Abate’s first location is on New Haven’s Little Italy 🇮🇹 on Wooster Street, right in the middle of the Apizza wars. I added this Orange location in case you want amazing New Haven Apizza, without the drive. No atmosphere, best for home.
Although Abate never makes the list of “Best Apizza” they are every bit as good as the others and where locals go to avoid tourists or apizza arguments It’s the Sweden of the Apizza wars.

The Milford Marine Institute’s Marine Biology summer camps take full advantage of both the numerous habitat areas–sandy beach, rocky coast, salt marsh and dune–of Long Island Sound and the species which inhabit them.
