You should definitely check in at the North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center early in your visit. It is usually staffed with informative and helpful people. Lots of great ideas for North Tahoe fun. It's located just steps away from "Fanny" bridge. Tesla charging stations are in the parking lot.

River Ranch Restaurant is a mountain joy. Lunch outdoors overlooking the river rapids is always a great experience. It's a short drive from Tahoe City going towards Olympic Valley/Truckee. Alternatively, you can bike along the river on the paved bike trail from Tahoe City "stop for lunch" and continue onto Olympic Valley. The trail follows the edge of the river and is well maintained with "porta-pottys" along the way, if needed.

The paved bike trail takes you through Tahoe City. You have a choice to go continue along the river to Alpine Meadows and or Olympic (Squaw) Valley. Alternatively, after biking to Tahoe City you can go south along the west shore of Lake Tahoe to Meeks Bay. Both are beautiful rides with great views.

A 7/11 store is across North Lake Blvd. From here, the ambitious can walk to Tahoe City for dining or other attractions, i.e. Commons Beach.

Local more strenuous hike to Watson Lake

For those wanting to experience the outdoors and perhaps more strenuous hikes, there is direct access and the west end of Fulton Crescent Drive (one block west). Walk north on the improved dirt road to the right of the paved Tahoe bike trail. In about 3/4 of a mile make a sharp hairpin turn (just before you reach Watson Creek-the first water you will see). After turning right you can follow it trail up to Lake Watson. Although, this is a moderate hike, remember, you are starting at almost 1,000 feet above the level of Lake Tahoe. For some people this will make it strenuous.
