The food is amazing and the local staff care deeply about their flour, bread and baked goods. The chocolate chip cookie is incredible.

About a 25 minute walk from us. If you are an ice cream lover, this is a hit destination. If it’s a warm day, be prepared to line up for a bit.

This little French-ish bistro is perfect for an anniversary or birthday dinner - a little bit special and always delicious. Their wine list is incredible and they even sell a small collection of groceries and wines. Not cheap, but worth it if you love good food!

If you have a car, Grouse is 25 minutes away. You take a gondola or you can hike up to the top. If you’re a skier, it’s an easy day if skiing, and in summer you could spend a whole day taking in the view, having lunch and hiking through their trail system. If it’s your first time to Vancouver, this is a great way to get a sense of our mountains and why we love it so much!

This forest is located adjacent to the UBC campus. It’s extensive trails are great for a place to cool off in the summer. You could do a walk here, then head up the the campus and either go to the beach, or go to MOA (see later in the guide book)

MOA is an incredible place to learn about the historical and present day Coast Salish communities that own the lands we call Vancouver. The museum is not a traditional glass-case and taxidermy facility, but a living and dynamic learning experience. We highly recommend it!

We suggest you take the seabus from waterfront station over to the Shipyards in North Vancouver. This is a whole development of restaurants, waterfront walks, a gallery (Polygon) , coffee shops and an indoor market. It’s gorgeous on a sunny day!
