Downstairs from the Hungry Trout, a more laid-back atmosphere can be found at this pub + restaurant. The outdoor seating overlooks the river and is one of my favorites! Dogs generally allowed outdoors but call to confirm.

Hands-down the best place for breakfast (and lunch!) in the area. Generally a place frequented by locals so stop in for home cooked food that's reasonably priced (and close!). Not open on Mondays so plan accordingly and check always check timing as it may vary seasonally.

A casual dinner option in Lake Placid that has wonderful indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Perfect for a drink and/or dinner. As there is often a wait, I recommend putting your name down, finding parking, then going for a short walk or getting a drink from the bar and sitting in the Adirondack chairs right next to the building and directly on/above the lake for a fantastic view!

A long-standing fly shop and guiding service that changed ownership in 2022, so I can't personally speak to how service is lately but it used to be the go-to spot. They can help you pick the right gear and also take you to places to fish.

Drink scene

In my opinion, one of the best breweries in the area! Great staff, beautiful old farmstead setting with outdoor and covered seating, and just simply lovely to try a brew. They make these in house and offer a range from IPA to pils, to wheat, to sour, stout, and more! Often a food truck is on site with burrito bowls, pizzas, and usually one more rotating special. Friday and Saturday evenings may feature live music, and dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating.
