The island has many artists and this is a showcase of some of the ones who do sculpture type art. It can get warm in the summer and there are fields all around. So be sure to take a hat.

Lots of space to walk and learn about the early days of San Juan Island, when the Americans and English were disputing the boundaries. Lots of nature and wildlife to observe.

On a good day, you can experience a 360-degree view of the San Juans and Vancouver Island. Sundays and Wednesdays from April through September you can drive to the top. From October to March, the road is open on Sundays as the weather allows.
Otherwise it is a 1.5 mile walk on a paved road to the summit, with several hiking trails within the preserve.
