Audubon Park is a city park located in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans. It is approximately 350 acres, the land was a plantation in the colonial and early statehood days. It was originally called the Plantation de Bore. The park features a rookery that is one of the prime birding spots in New Orleans. It attracts hundreds of wading birds, including great egrets, cattle egrets, snowy egrets, ibis, little blue heron, green herons, night herons and others. It is also home to cormorants and anhingas, as well as to many species of ducks. Audubon Zoo is a also there. The zoo covers 58 acres and is home to 2000 animals. It is on the Mississippi Riverside of Magazine St.
