In the harbour you will find an interesting free museum called the Tolbooth museum. This building is the oldest in Stonehaven and was built around the same time as the castle.

Nice small castle with gorgeous gardens. The walk from the entrance up to the castle along the woods is well worth the effort, also you can park for free unlike parking next to the castle.

Drum Castle is close to Crathes castle, it's worth visiting both in the same day. There is also a nice garden and a very nice park for children to play.
