The gardens in front are the Kemp Town Enclosures which are said to have inspired Lewis Carroll in his writing of Alice in Wonderland. There is a tunnel from them to the sea - like the rabbit hole Alice disappears down

Tom Paine, the republican and one of the founders of the United States lived in Lewes. This is an old and pretty market town in the South Downs once the main centre for Sussex. It has a castle, the house where Anne of Cleves lived, great pubs and its own brewery, Harveys. Famous for Bonfire which is absolute madness.
A well designed, leisurely fair ground ride without an adrenaline rush - just a smooth and gentle lift in a doughnut shaped capsule up a pole. You can get a good view of Brighton and Hove and see it is surround by the Downs on one side. The other side is sea and a lot of it. You can sometimes see Isle of Wight. Don't go up in foggy or misty weather.

This is an amazing place if only because you can't imagine the dishes or make these at home. A famous vegetarian which meat eaters must go to too because it is deservedly one of the best. It is on the more expensive side because of the quality coooking
