Claire's is an upscale restaurant with amazing food and service. It's perfect for special occasion meals, or just a nice evening out. The restaurant was a train depot in a past life so the interior has a historic charm, and it boasts a sweet patio for outdoor dining as well. Also of note- their cocktails are quite tasty.

Red Truck Bakery is not just a local favorite but they are famous nationwide. Their muffins are legendary but their cakes, pies... everything is delicious and fresh.

For history and paranormal buffs alike, the Old Jail is a gem. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable and the exhibits are fascinating. The Old Jail, aside from being a museum, was built in 1808, and is home to several spirits.

Old Town Warrenton is a picturesque area with brick sidewalks, full of locally-owned shops. Just off Main Street the roads are lined with gorgeous, beautifully preserved, historic homes. Warrenton was incorporated in 1910, and Main Street itself is still made up of many of those original buildings. Take the short drive to town, grab a coffee at Deja Brew and peruse the shops. Main Street is decorated for every season, fall and Christmas being especially popular, so it makes a wonderful afternoon trip.

It's a little bit of a drive (just 1.25 hrs) but worth every minute. The wine cannot be beat (the tasting is HUGE), and food at Palladio, the onsite restaurant, is amazing.
