“La Chascona” is currently a museum house, whose destiny is to share the life of the poet Pablo Neruda by opening up access to all the inner spaces where he lived and created.
Among other collections, it houses an interesting art gallery, with paintings by Chilean and foreign artists from all times. There is also an African carved wood collection and another collection of furniture and objects from designer Piero Fornasetti. Certainly there are also Neruda's spaces, his dining room, with its original China and silverware.

Food Scene
This restaurant definitely captures part of the authentic Chilean culture through it's food, looks and all. You'll find typical Chilean food starting with 'Pernil' that is a cooked pork shank with boiled potatoes aside but a generous 'costillar' (pork ribs) is also a good starting point.
If you are a fish lover, I suggest you to enjoy the Conger chowder (caldillo de congrio) with a glass of a cold Sauvignon Blanc.

The Santiago Metropolitan Park is an urban park located within the city of Santiago, capital of Chile. Consisting of the San Cristóbal, Chacarillas and Los Gemelos hills; the park is located between four communes of Santiago and covers around 722 hectares (1,785 acres), making it the largest urban park in Chile and one of the largest in the world.
In September 2012, the Chilean government launched a plan to significantly refurbish and expand the park between 2012 and 2016, a plan which includes building new footpaths, planting 100,000 more trees and expanding the National Zoo.

Sightseeing
The Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception on San Cristóbal Hill is one of the principal places of worship for the Catholic Church of Chile, as well as being an icon of Santiago, Chile. It is notable in particular for a large statue of the Virgin Mary, which is located at the summit of San Cristóbal Hill, some 863 meters (2,830 feet) above sea level. At the foot of the statue there is an amphitheatre for holding masses or other religious ceremonies. The statue can be reached via the road joining the Santiago Metropolitan Park, via the Funicular of Santiago or the Santiago Cable Car, which has its final station next to the sanctuary.
