Joe and Melissa Basilone opened Perkolator in September of 2014. Located at the heart of the Irving Austin Business District, their cafe has connected the community through coffee, tea, food and art. It is not only a café, but it is a a place where neighbors sit down together; where groups make plans to better their community; where friends are made; and where local artists show their work and people come together to see those works of art.

4925 West Irving Park RoadERIS was inspired by the eponymous Greek goddess notorious for causing mayhem. As the story goes, Eris threw the golden apple of discord into a party that she wasn’t invited to, thus creating a chaotic scene as every goddess in attendance scrambled for its beauty.
So how do we make an impression in a city of over 100 breweries? By throwing an apple into the party; we are making hard ciders, too.
Our menu strives to be inclusive of meat lovers, vegans, vegetarians, pescetarians, and those who observe gluten free diets. Perhaps still wounded from not being invited to that party, we want everyone to feel welcome here. We do our best to offer a wide selection of dishes that will tempt all who cross our threshold.

4240 W Irving Park RdERIS was inspired by the eponymous Greek goddess notorious for causing mayhem. As the story goes, Eris threw the golden apple of discord into a party that she wasn’t invited to, thus creating a chaotic scene as every goddess in attendance scrambled for its beauty.
So how do we make an impression in a city of over 100 breweries? By throwing an apple into the party; we are making hard ciders, too.
Our menu strives to be inclusive of meat lovers, vegans, vegetarians, pescetarians, and those who observe gluten free diets. Perhaps still wounded from not being invited to that party, we want everyone to feel welcome here. We do our best to offer a wide selection of dishes that will tempt all who cross our threshold.

Horner Park is a 54-acre park in the Irving Park community area. The eastern boundary of the park borders the Chicago River between Montrose Avenue and Irving Park Road. In 2013, a river shoreline restoration project began, restoring 11 acres of riverbank from a thicket of invasive and weedy plants to a thriving savanna of native wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. This effort reduced invasive species and bank erosion, improved the biodiversity of the park, and provided new access to nature with trails along the river.
