Located .8 miles up the road from Icicle Ridge Hideaway on the grounds of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort. This is one of our favorites. They have great coffee, scones and a full breakfast menu. We like to walk or bike there on the weekend, take in the views, and walk around the scenic Sleeping Lady grounds after breakfast.

The trail runs in a loop, up one side of Icicle Creek and down the other, so you hike alongside the river most of the way. The trailhead is about 30 minutes up Icicle Rd from the Hideaway. The road turns to gravel part way and there are numerous spur roads that leave the main road, so make sure to have good directions before you head out. (No cell service up there!)

Located west of Leavenworth, Stevens gets the most snow, has the steepest slopes and the most terrain of any of the nearby ski areas. It’s where we spend most of our ski days. It gets very crowded on weekends, so if you’re headed up skiing, make sure to get an early start to get parking before the parking lots fill up.
