Take the boat from New Harbor (we have used Hardy Boat Cruises) or from Boothbay Harbor. Gorgeous hiking or just hanging out on an island with simple roads and no cars. Don't miss the fairy houses or the Cliffs.

This is an amazing boat ride to a beautiful island
No trip to Portland would be complete without a ferry to one of the islands - Peaks (rent bikes or golf cart and tour island, bring picnic lunch) or Chebeague (same)? or the mail boat where you stop at several islands. Incredible value!

If you are here in the summer, a boat ride (1.5 hours) to see the puffins and other birds is so fun. Naturalist from Audubon on board to give you lots of interesting info and point out birds. Hardy Boat cruises leave from New Harbor
