If you're in the mood for more traditional Mexican food, we do suggest this place. Beside the great chips and salsa/guac, they have homemade flour tortillas and they plate dinners are pretty good.

We love this place. The atmosphere is great inside and out. They have an excellent patio to enjoy a nice breeze along with your favorite drink. our favorite meal is their fajitas..a bit pricey but well worth it with the grilled veggies. the taco salad with lime tequila dressing is amazing. and bonus, they give a great discount for our military.

Interstate 35 North Frontage RoadThis place is on the pricey end but they do have an excellent happy hour and the chips and salsa are amazing. I would call this Mexican Cuisine. The atmosphere inside is more upscale but comfortable and the food is phenomenal.

The pancakes are great and they have so many different combinations of omelette, it'll make your head spin. Get there before 9am or you will be waiting in a long line.
The breakfasts here are amazing..and so is the line on the weekends to get in. Get here before 9am and you should be ok. Everything here is good but the waffles are really great, not to mention pretty thick. They do have gluten free options if needed.

From eggs benedict to Jager Schnitzel, we haven't had a bad meal yet. You may have a smidge of a wait, but it's worth it. Get here before 9 if you can.

Munich meets Texas in this local favorite biergarten. If you're in the mood for some local German food with traditional flare, this is the place. They have so many different beers and the food is like it is in southern Baveria (although.. I have told them to add some Knodel with gravy to the menu). You will have fun and leave full. Prost!

This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor accommodations. If you can sit outside while the weather is great, do so (tell the wait staff it's your first time and you may get a great seat). You have several levels of outside seating that overlooks the famous Guadalupe River. Hint: try the onion rings. If there are only 2 or 3 ppl in the party, the small will be just the right amount because they are huge and hands down the best onion rings in the state. They have home cooking such as catfish, trout, chicken fried steak, gruene beans.. my favorite is the tomatillo chicken. It's a bit spicy but has so much flavor and is juicy and tender. Well, you decide on what your favorite is.

You'll have as much fun looking around at the pictures as you will telling stories over beer. Come hungry and leave happy but get here a bit early because this place fills up quick.

Mouth watering steaks, unbelievably delish and flavorful fish, Mryon's delivers on all scales. This is the place for a romantic night out, special gathering or a great first impression for business outings. Whatever the reason, don't pass up the opportunity to have a great meal. PS save room for the creme brulee.

Definite local favorite. Close to downtown, Landa Park and Schlitterbaun. They have daily specials (meatloaf tuesday will sell out quickly) as well as staple items and a kids menu. Best sweet potato fries around.

Landa Park has walking, jogging and bike trails along with golfing and basketball courts. the comal river flows thru landa park and is a must float. at the end is the city chute. you can picnic on the grass and sunbathe if you get to worn out from the river. but please pick up after yourself and help keep our rivers clean.

Old time German charm in a city that shuts down early. Get here early and enjoy shopping, local German food, wineries and the local scenery. Go a few minutes outside the city to enchanted rock and go hiking. come during Oktoberfest or during the holidays and you'll experience Germany without having to leave the state. you'll love it. The restaurants here that we frequent often are Ottos German Bistro..great for a romantic dinner. A bit pricey but worth it. Old German Bakery for breakfast. The old world recipes still live in the hills of Texas and you can taste them here, from potato pancakes to strudel, you won't be sorry for stopping in. The Auslander. Bavarian food at a great price . The atmosphere here is German biergarten. You can sit outside or in, it's up to you. Check your days because this beauty is only open Thurs - Sat. 10am until 4 or if they sell out. This place has the best pies in Texas (maybe anywhere). If you can't decide on what flavor, have 2 slices. lol. They won't judge you. Alamo Springs cafe. This one is not within Fredericksburg town proper , but outside in the country. You will have to google it to find it, but the drive is very nice. These burgers will not disappoint. Bring your appetite.

If you have never been to Bandera and have the time, this town is straight out of an old western..with modern touches. It's charming yet rugged. This town, along with the others mentioned, are a great way to spend a leisurely day. Side note:If you have the time, highway 173 between Bandera and Kerrville is just gorgeous.

This town, along with the others mentioned, are a great way to spend a leisurely day. Side note:If you have the time, highway 173 between Bandera and Kerrville is just gorgeous.

Knee deep in most places and cold, Concan hosts the frio river. and it is frio. lol. This place is breathtaking. HInts: take highway 16 from Bandera. It is an hours drive so make sure you have gas and maybe something to drink. If you want to see Texas hill country in all its glory, Concan, Bandera, Boerne and Fredericksburg will complete your journey. In the summer months, starting in mid may to about mid to last of August, our peaches are in season and you can find them being sold along the roads or you can drive directly to the source in Fredericksburg and pick them yourself at Marburger Orchard.
