Food Scene

This is a fun place to go, as its a walk up. You park and walk up to order through the window, and then there are provided tables. We haven't eaten here for a LONG while, but its mainly Hawaiian food, if you are looking to try the local cuisine without traveling too far.

Parks & Nature

We have been asked about this a lot. It is illegal for the general public to hike this trail. However, we have a few friends who have realized that, if you can be there earlier than the security guard, you can hike it, and he doesn't say anything to you once you return. But, we have also heard of people getting fined as a result. It's at your own risk, but we get a lot of people wondering about it. We have not done it.

We love coming here, even if we don't hit the beach! There is ALWAYS something going on. Hula performances, volleyball, or some type of watersports. We like to ride the trolley (Pink Line) around Waikiki, up to Ala Moana shopping center, and back again, parking at the Zoo. The trolley is $2 per person, exact cash only, and you pay every time you get on. My son loves the trolley, so we just pay and ride it around once, and take in the sights.

This is a great hike with stunning views. I went for the first time a few weeks ago. I made it halfway up. Its a bunch of wooden planks on an old railroad track. But its one of the most visited places. Great hike for all the outdoors fans!

Shopping

This is actually two malls in one, with a little shuttle between the two. They are also within walking distance of each other. We like going here because it has all of our favorite shops, and is easy to navigate. Plus there is usually something for the kids.

People from all over come out here to sell their things, and you just walk through the "aisle" around the entire stadium. You have to pay for parking, but then you just get out and walk. Its fun to see all the things that people make, and there is a lot of Aloha to go around :)

Getting Around

I would use www.thebus.org to determine which bus route you are going to take. You put your place from A to B and it gives you an estimated time and bus stops. To get on a bus, I believe, its $2.50 each.
