Food scene

Best Pizza in the foothills of the Rockies. Gluten-free crusts are available. Great atmosphere in the little mountain mining town of Nederland.

It's in the heart of downtown boulder off of the Pearl street scene. They have interesting taco flavors and have the following options: Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options, Gluten-Free Options. Currently, they are only doing carry out, which is great because you can get the order to go and enjoy a picnic in the park which is close by or take a stroll down Pearl Street. Check their website for opening the restaurant to dine in or give them a call. https://www.tacocolorado.com/

Oak at Fourteenth is a very high-end restaurant but you will not be disappointed, they pay attention to detail on their food and services. This is a locally owned and operated and very popular Boulder restaurant. The drinks are top-notch and the wood-fired grill is open for you to watch these fine chefs in action.

Sherpa's Adventure Restaurant and bar is a local favorite for Nepalese food. It is locally owned and operated. Great food for a great price with friendly service. It's one of my favorite places if you are looking for a cultural experience in food. they have indoor and outdoor seating and is close to downtown with free parking on the west end of downtown Boulder.

Sightseeing

This is a fairly easy hike up to the most pristine mountain lake in Colorado. The trail is easy to follow and easy to get to. The views are gorgeous and from the top of the hike is Lost lake where you can also see more mountain tops to the west. There are wildlife in the area, so please be sure to check online to verify that this trail is open. Also, feel free to take the bear spray with you that is provided by kate. Please leave the bear spray when you get back from your hike. Better safe than sorry but kate has never had a run into bears, only moose.

Settlers Park Trailhead is a very easy hike with some interesting rock formation. It is a short walk about 10-15 minutes long. There are other trails around here which you can go on which would be longer hikes. If you are ambitious then you can hike further north from this trailhead which then connects up to Sanitas trailhead. Great views and easy access. Views of Boulder and surrounding areas and foothills of the Rockies. There is parking at the bottom of the trailhead.

This is a great hike for intermediate to advanced hikers. Its an easy trail head to find with optional parking available. The views are fantastic but the initial ascent and climb are steep. This trail takes you on a steep ascent path up Mt. Sanitas. Although the climb is a bit tasking, the breath taking views of Boulder and the Continental Divide offers hikers an appropriate reward. At the opposite side of this loop, there is an easier trail that leads in the opposite direction. Located on Mapleton Ave, west of 4th, this challenging climb through a steep ascending path leading to Mt. Sanitas, this trail guarded by amazing natural views of Boulder County and the Continental Divide, compensates the effort. Opposite to this loop, there is an easier track for the beginners. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mount-sanitas-and-sanitas-valley-loop-trail
