Neighborhoods

Take a walk down the center of West Boulevard. Many of the homes are over 100 years old and the canopy of trees down the middle makes for a lovely walk.

Food scene

Located in the history Creamery building, this little shop is a local favorite of ours. With delicious baked goods (including GF options) it's a great place for a coffee and a snack.

Tally's is a go-to breakfast or dinner place for visitors and locals alike. They have delicious pancakes (using their original recipe from the 40s) and a great variety of classic and adventurous food options. There is sometimes up to an hour wait for breakfast, so stop by, put your name in and and take a walk around Main Street Square or some of the local shops downtown. For dinner, be sure to call ahead for a reservation.

With 54 self-serve taps, including lots of local beer, 3 floors of a historic downtown building make for a great stop. They offer delicious Detroit-style deep dish pizza that you don't want to miss. Establishment is 21+

Seriously the best beer around. If you want the best beer (I think in the state), Lost Cabin is your place! No kitchen, but they usually have a food truck outside, or grab some take-out from somewhere and stop by. My favs? Bruce Banner, So Dank, Juicy Bruce, and the Lord Grizzly.

Grab a Cocktail and relax on the roof of the historic Alex Johnson. You pay a little premium for the views, but it's a nice date stop! It is limited to members-only, but you can buy a day pass at the front desk for about $20.

No picture? That's because this prohibition-era speakeasy is top secret! Well, kind of :). Only open on weekends, but this is an immersive experience where they serve drinks and dress right out of the 1920s. A bit of a local's secret, but highly recommend! If you want in, you need a reservation and a password. Text (605) 939-0095 and say "I'd like to make a reservation for "Number of people" at "Desired time" on "desired day" and they will let you know what's available :).

Uber and Lyft

The easiest ways to get around are Uber and Lyft. Lyft has been here a little longer so is a little quicker usually but both can work.
