Louisiana inspired kitchen attached to a classic brew pub. The original location is located in Lyons, CO with this pub being an expansion. Some great people work there and serve a rotation of 50 plus beers and a casual, tasty menu.

Say what's up to Mike and the gang. The bar is themed after like an underground futuristic Japanese joint. They have a good variety of Japanese Whiskys (spelled right) and a lot of hipster beers like Olympia and such. Really good sushi/sashimi inspired dishes.

Set in one of older houses in Colorado Springs is this place that just wins. It's been here for years, famous for their coconut shrimp soup, and popular across all demographics. Nice patio out back, great place to take a date.

The story goes that some prospector dude back in the day trained two elk to work like horses. He would then ride around in a cart pulled by these two elk through the streets of what is now old colorado city. At the time it was the state capitol and the territory was a wild one. Great food, good drinks, friendly staff and just like a service industry type bar where the bartenders hang out after work.

Irish food reimagined in a super intimate little pub. They do have an amazing patio out back but you have to go through the kitchen to get there. Good, relatively inexpensive food in a very casual setting.

Probably the only suggestion I'll make that's far from downtown. Unlimited sushi, less than 30 bucks, and of good quality. Kind of hard to beat if you want to go into a fish coma.

Watch rich people drunkenly sing along to a piano. Be that person. This is the laid back bar at the Broadmoor Hotel. The rest of the resort is 5 stars, 5 diamonds and very proud of it. The prices definitely reflect that pride but this bar in particular can be a lot of fun.

If you want a great burger look no further. Bobby and his crew hook up Oklahoma style onion grilled burgers that are so good. There are other options on the menu besides burgers, but the burgers are the reason people go.

On the east side of town Slingers offers a drive through option for BBQ. The meats are smoked nightly and are made into simple and delicious plates and sandwiches. This is the only place in town where you can drive up to a window and leave with an awesome brisket sandwich. If you feel like dining in they have a large traditional restaurant with a full bar as well.

This is the anti corporate brewpub. Biff and the crew have been putting out great beers for over a decade in the Springs and just recently expanded into this space. Right on the edge of Old Colorado City and could make a great start or end to a tour of that part of town.

Sightseeing

Not nearly as crowded as the Garden of the Gods but with similar geology with more trails and a lot of rock climbing at all levels. Also provides access to longer, more serious hiking trails.

This one is kind of a secret. Don't tell locals I told you about it because chances are they don't even know about it. It's not easy to get to but its surreal that so very very close to town there's an area so remote that most of the locals never heard of it. Google hurricane cave and seriously let your mind wander about this place. This is not an easy hike and not really for the inexperienced hiker. Access is via the Heiser Trail which you can find with a quick google search. This area really is special, isolated, and something surprising to see so close to the city.

This is an easy 15 minute drive from downtown and right next to Seven Falls. Seven Falls you have to pay for but this whole canyon is a free city park. There are numerous trails, waterfalls and probably the most popular spot is at the top which provides access to the abandoned Gold Camp Road. This road goes all the way up to Victor, CO and was used to transport gold ore down to the mill at 21st street. On hot summer days you can find shade along the creek here. Also mountain bikers rejoice bombing down Captain Jack's trail.

You already know what it is. My only pointer is if you want to rock climb here stop by the visitor center and fill out a waiver. Without it you can get in some trouble but last I checked the waiver is free. Avoid climbing here if it rained in the last 2 days, the rock is crumbly and soft. Also the routes are harder than they're graded.

This park is everything. I mean like there are families hanging out, there are folks on SUP boards, there are athletes training, people fishing, skateboarders in and out of a halfpipe, folks BBQing and at the south end of the park you're almost guaranteed an illegal dice game. If you enjoy running in the morning the loop around the lake is about 1.25 miles, pretty flat and with exceptional views of the mountains.

The lake is cool, you can fish there and there is a trail the whole way around. What's really cool is driving Rampart Road FR 300 from Garden of the Gods up to Woodland Park and beyond. It goes almost all the way to Denver but the part above Garden of the Gods is very scenic. Suitable for regular 2wd low clearance cars.
