This is a great museum. Like all the other museums it is very humbling to visit.

This is a German gun battery & HQ just outside the town of Grandcamp-Maisy.
This museum is built at the site of the artificial harbour. Remnants of Mulberry Harbour can still be seen, a few hundred yards away from the shore. On June 6th 1944, some 4,126 Allied ships successfully achieved the greatest landings in history on the beaches of Normandy and find out more about the how the Mulberry Harbour was constructed - a truly extraordinary technological feat which provided the key to Victory in Normandy.

Admire an original B26 bomber, one of only six remaining examples of this airplane still in existence worldwide, and relive the epic experience of American soldiers through the film “VICTORY IN THE SAND,” winner of a CINE GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD 2012 and the 2013 CINE SPECIAL JURY AWARD for best museum documentary. By the end of your visit, you will understand the strategic choices for the Allied invasion of Normandy and the reasons for the success at Utah Beach. Thanks to your visit, you will also have contributed to the safeguard of the site and the preservation of the memory of the Allied soldiers’ extraordinary sacrifices.

You are able to walk around some of the underground tunnels, there are gun emplacements & models of soldiers as if in battle.
